for this writing we did a few weeks ago we were learning to make hooking sentences and making moment in time writing or recounts. I did a recount so I could of adding more discretion. I hope you enjoy
P.P.D.O.A
“Look out!”, Destiny cautioned. I turned to her concerningly and felt the weight of a massive red parrot clawing on my jersey ready to attack my finger. I was so determined to shove it off my jersey but destiny stopped me at once and took it off my jersey - NOW CLAWED. People stared at me like I was a circus freak laughing at my expense. I acted like I was someone else, put my hoodie on and dragged myself to the pink dancing parrot. Unfortunately they knew it was me because I had the claw marks scarred on my jersey. I walked out of the gate and started trembling embarrassingly to the other parrots.
In the enclosure with the miniscule parrots, the blue haired skinny one let me pick him up. I suddenly started singing and praising the lord it hadden bitten me for about 5 seconds after seeing my fingers waving around trying to pick up more tincy wincy parrots. Most of the birds in the enclosures were parrots. Some were a type of bird that had a very extended tail and others just were normal Niches which are just casual birds that we see a lot of the time outside of the enclosure. I took a big gulp and picked up one of the big birds in the small bird enclosure I slowly closed my eyes thinking it would bite my short scrumptious fingers but before I knew it the bird was trying to bite my earring it really tickled and I bursted out will laughter trying to tell people that it was biting my earrings! I quickly caught my breath and told them to get the gigantic bird off. I also asked why there was a big bird in the small enclosures the tour guide lady said “Oh yes this big girl is in the enclosures cause she is a frightened of big parrots even though she is big”
“WOW” I said, putting her on the branch.
“Huh”, I said confusingly asking if the parrots were married because they had rings on their feet but no I was way off, parrots actually have rings on one of their feet so if they escape from their enclosures people will know it's from the parrot place. I saw two couple of parrots kissing. They had their beaks put together and the tour guide lady said that they were kissing in a form of showing off! I personally just thought it was yuck - EW GROSS.
Reflection
On that day I had a lot of fun and I will never regret having that much fun in a long time. I hope in the future I will go there again and that the red parrot doesn't try to kill my finger! My experience was great and you should visit it when you can In Kerikeri but be aware you will see parrot public displays of affection.
